Environmental Clearance

TOR granted on 22nd August 2007.

An application No. JPL/MINES/07-03 dated 15.03.2007 for Terms of Reference (TOR) for Gare IV/2 and IV/3 Underground coalmine for 0.9 MTPA capacity was received.

Separately, an application dated 13.03.2007 for establishment of a Coal Washery (8000 TPH) in Gare IV/2 and IV/3 coalmine project was also received. The project proponent, namely, M/s Jindal Power Ltd.

subsequently submitted a revised application for TOR vide letter No.JPL/1.10/DNA/2007/0704 dated 04.07.2007 for expansion of Gare IV/2 and IV/3 OC-cum-UG mine of a combined production capacity of 7 MTPA.

The two proposals ? (i) expansion of Gare IV/2 and IV/3 OC-cum-UG mine and (ii) establishment of a Coal Washery (8000 TPH) in Gare IV/2 and IV/3 coalmine project were considered in the EAC (T&C) meeting held on 23rd -24thJuly 2007 and an integrated TOR dated 22.08.2007 for preparation of an Integrated EIA-EMP was granted on 22.08.2007.

The application dated 20.01.2011 for EC based on TOR was considered by EAC (T&C) meeting held on 21st -22nd February,2011.
